The San Francisco
Bay Trail Project:

A 500-Mile Shoreline Trail Around the Bay

Coyote Hills Regional Shoreline.

The Bay Trail Celebrates 20 Years of Trails!

This year, the Bay Area celebrates twenty years of progress on the San Francisco Bay Trail. The shoreline of San Francisco Bay has seen profound changes since the Bay Trail was formalized as a regional project. After two decades, this ambitious effort has resulted in almost 300 miles of trails. The Bay Trail is a tangible result of our respect and appreciation of the Bay. From the perspective of a runner or rollerblader, a cyclist or curlew, we have come a long way.

To recognize this milestone, events will be held around the region celebrating the many ways to experience the edge of San Francisco Bay.
