Access Information


Access to the Benicia State Recreation Area: From Interstate 780 West, exit onto the Columbus Parkway. Then turn left onto Rose Drive. Turn right into the Park. From Interstate 780 East, exit onto Columbus Parkway. Turn left into the Park.

There is always plenty of parking for a nominal fee.


Views of the Park

Beautiful views of the Carquinez Straight abound the trail.
Meadows of blooming mustard adorn the trail.
A field of waving white flowers.
The parking lot is adorned with flowering trees.
Large Monterey Pines provide lots of shade in the picnic areas.
Side trails can lead you out into grassy meadows with flowering plants.
Hills bloom with green grasses and trees.
On a clear day you can see the Carquinez bridge.
Plenty of trees and marshy wetlands around the Bay Trail provide a cooling effect on hot days.
Sunny trails and rolling hills give the Bay Area a beautiful appearance.
Walk down the trail and you will see many things as these people do.
The bay provides plenty of calm sailing.
The bay hills and flowering grasses provide a picturesque view for any photographer.
Houses overlook the deep green valleys.
The Carquinez Bridge and the C+H Sugar Factory in Crockett, which is across the straight from the trail, provides a great view.
People may sit upon this hill and look at the calmly flowing waters of the bay.
The purple flowers are native to the area and worth the trip to see.
Biking is the easiest and the most fun thing to do while you explore the trail.

Facilities Available at the Park

Plenty of opportunity to barbecue and have a picnic.
One can relax on this bench overlooking the Carquinez Straight.
One can even have a party in this spacious field.
Day parking costs $2.

Exercise Equipment


Why go to the gym? One can walk or run on the trail and exercise and stretch on the equipment conveniently located around this specific trail.

Along the trail one can find many types of exercise equipment.
